Welcome to the Take Your Time Universe
With Dianna Cohen
For the very first episode of Take Your Time, I’m sharing my own story and the “why” behind this podcast. I reflect on growing up in a small town in South Florida, discovering art history in eighth grade, and how collecting images through magazines, art books, and Tumblr became my creative safe space. I talk about how Take Your Time became my personal mantra as I built Crown Affair, what it really means to slow down and reclaim your time, and why I believe that all of us are creative, we just have to get quiet enough to listen to ourselves.
Tune in for a meditation on dreaming, consistency, and the seeds we plant long before we ever see the fruit.

Three Questions on Time
Take Your Time Back
If everything on your calendar tomorrow was canceled, what would you do?
Sleep eight hours, wake up somewhere warm — Miami or California — journal with morning pages, stretch, spend time with my husband, go to a noon Pilates class, visit a museum, take a long bath, and have dinner with friends. One big artist date of a day.
Time is the only thing you can’t fake. What’s something you could have only learned over time?
To not be nostalgic — nostalgia will kill you. Keep moving. The second you say “we used to do it this way” is when you get caught flat-footed. Change is the only constant.
When does time stand still for you?
Wrapped in a cozy blanket with a cup of tea, watching a movie or reading a book — fully immersed, no notifications. And with my nieces. Kids sniff out anything that isn’t true and earnest, and they see the world in such a beautiful way.
